Susan Wojcicki is planning something new for Youtube. Youtube is heavy on advertisement but not in the way we think. There are trivial stars in Youtube and the CEO of Youtube wants to make them real life stars. She says that stars in Youtube must be highlighted and this makes a major change in Youtube ‘’business’’.
Wocjcki said “ when you compare our stars to someone who is a star on TV, you understand that the real star’s awareness was built by advertisements and campaigns on TV and billboard.”
Another change in the Youtube ‘’business’’ is the program called True View with an ad format, set up by its partner program and sharing the revenue with its creators.
Yet another major hange in Youtube ‘’business’’ has been the effort to make the content better. Youtube committed 100 million dollars for the content creators, most of which was about beauty, fashion , food and music.
Without any doubt, the new CEO’s efforts to boost the business by highlighting potential stars, is going to receive interest in the short term, turning the site into Metube.
