I am proud of people who can change the world without being intimidated.
Sonia Faleiro lived for 24 years in New Delhi, a city where sexual harassment is as regular as mealtime. As a teenager she tried to protect herself because she had ambivalent feelings towards the people there. She wanted to stay away from all the people in the city and she only went out once a week. She had witnessed a girl being raped by gang members when she was 20 years old and this event had changed her whole point of view towards life.
Later on, she decided to break the chain holding her behind and she moved to Mumbai only to start a protest against the raping issue in India. She supported women rights and fought against the people who thought that women rights should be banned.
Faleiro is now an author of a book and is getting even more successful in her writing career. She has found a way to break her own chains but also to unchain some of the minds entangled in violence.
