Do they live the same life?
These people are all living in the same city but with very different lives. Yes, this is ISTANBUL!
Only 10 kilometers can change a lot.
Does the difference increase as the distance increases?
HERE, the distance is 1500 km but the difference is inconsiderable. First photo shows a slum quarter in Istanbul and the second one is a photo of a village in MuÅŸ. They look similar, don’t they? We know Istanbul as a developed city. However this image looks like a village in eastern Turkey.
Generally slum residents earn minimum wage, 600 -700 TL. But there are also people that earn lots of money every month. Of course this creates different life styles. They eat, consume, spend, wear, read, fight, love DÄ°FFERENTLY. They do not have the same life standards.
Whether one likes it or not, it is interesting to note that Istanbul finds a way to reconcile all the incongruities and conflicts of humanity within its soul.
