In October 2011, MUN was conducted in Turkish for the first time in the history of United Nations. There were three Açı students who contributed to this first and honorable step: Asya İğmen, Erman Ermihan and Güvenç Kutlusoy. They became chairmen of MBMTR (Model Birleşmiş Milletler Türkiye) and headed schools from all over Turkey. Delegates in different committees were also very successful. Nathan Candaner with his resolution which passed in the Human Rights Committee, Ayşe Erman with her resolution which passed in the Disarmament Committee, and Murat Fırat with his in the Socio-Economic Committee all managed to pass their protocols in the General Assembly. Gamze Keklik, Irmak Köksalan and Deniz Cündoğlu passed their resos second in line. Cem Kaspi gave an amendment while Atakan Paksoy, Burcu Açıkgöz and Deyvi Halfo were active lobbying. It was a great pleasure to work with delegates with different insights fom Mardin, Bitlis, Adıyaman, Siirt, Bursa and others, especially knowing that now we had friends from these cities to continue the strive for peace on the world.
