It was the first time we were competing in the Elevator Pitch which is about presenting an idea you have to a CEO in a simulation of an elevator which is going down from the 16th floor to the ground floor in 60 seconds. 22 students from 10 schools competed in this interesting format. Ferkan Ağmal and Erman Ermihan represented our school with their own pitches.
We congratulate them for improvising their pitches according to the surprise challenges that arose during their slot.
Mr. Jason who was a true CEO in real life, was a Japanese living in Turkey since 7 years, fluent in Turkish and astute with humorous, quick answers to the ideas presented to him, created new challenges for each competitor. Sometimes he would be completely disinterested in the speaker, fiddling through his cell phone or i-pad; other times he would sneeze, cough. Ferkan asked him a minimal question and found that he would not stop talking. Ferkan gently interrupted and miraculously succeeded in finishing his speech. Erman, however, had a bigger challenge. Mr. Jason decided to tie his shoe laces when Erman went into the elevator. Erman, in the most excellent and most cleverly thought immediate idea, fell infront of him and attracted his attention on the floor. Erman had already started his speech when they were helping each other up.
We congratulate Ferkan for coming 6th and Erman 7th, but above all for their creativity and resilience.
