Only in the past 20 years, technology has outdone itself. From 1990’s onwards at an increasing pace, technology is wherever we look. This evolution of technology has reflected to news and newspapers too. Think about 20 years ago. There are newspapers, and you can only get the news from those newspapers, radio and television. Right now as we can all see, technology has changed the news and has forced the newspapers to change.
There are many people who stopped buying newspapers, because of the new setup of the media. Right now, everybody who has a computer can see and learn the news from internet sites. More clearly, there are official sites which belong to the news giants, like New York Times, and Turkish Hürriyet, Milliyet. So, these newspaper companies have given in to the power of the technology. Right now, all of those companies are complaining about the overriding power of the technology but they can’t do anything!
Too many blogs, normal sites, official sites, and public sites are the things that make traditional media become obsolete. Right now the big enemy of the traditional media, is the digital media, which started to change everything, and is still changing. Digital media grows proportional to the digital technology. Digital media changes as much as cyber technology develops. Technology is better still getting bigger, better and more useful. That’s why too many people started to forget about the traditional media.
Nowadays, there are many people who learn news from the internet, through some official sites or blogs. So called ‘’traditional’’ media changing. Right now there are blogs that everybody can write, there are official sites with videos, and both blogs and sites are much close to human beings. That’s why nobody wants to pay money to purchase the traditional media.
Keeping in mind today’s technology, just imagine how media will be like 10 years from now? Many people will have forgotten about the traditional media, nobody will be buying newspapers; because of that companies will not be publishing newspapers, everyone will be learning the news from blogs and sites, and this is going to mean chaos! News will consist of random thoughts and opinions, unaccountable, unverifiable; the stage is going to strain. Unfortunately, traditional media will be drifting toward its funeral!
To make traditional media stay alive, there are some simple ways. First we have to give information about the goods of the traditional media. Secondly we can make digital media flush, because too many director of those company are not happy because of the digital media. By completing these steps, we can make digital and traditional media equal, and we will not lose them.
