Nowadays, massively growing China has a lot of new effects on Africa. China’s new political and diplomatic aim is to show its power in Africa. For that reason, China becomes dominant in different sectors of Africa.
For example, $ 200 million is being financed by Beijing to build a ring road in Africa. Also, China is supporting the expansion of the international airport. By looking at these examples China is trying to develop Africa by giving the financial help of its country. Besides the infrastructural investments as above, China is also trying to bring its media to Africa. We can understand this by the effects of the Chinese news agency, Xinhua.
Even though the Western companies are not popular, Chinese media is growing rapidly. Their main aim is to teach about China especially in the rich regions of natural resources.
They believe that these resources can easily feed the crowded population of China.
China is popular of its restrictiveness in journalism; because of that, people are now doubtful of the human rights and the censorship in Africa.
To sum up, China is supporting the weaker countries and they want to control the news media. They also see these countries as good investments. Their economy is so big that they can see whole countries as investment opportunities; and one should see the truth that without anyone helping those low economical linear countries, nothing will change in them for decades, maybe even a century. So, after all, it’s a win-win scenario.
