1.50.000 children in Senegal are forced to beg
2. Parents send their kids to a school that teaches the Kuran but the headmasters
send them on the streets to earn money.
3. These children are between the age of 5 and 14.
4. The government does not force laws that prevent child labor.
5. They are forced to beg for 8 hours a day.
It is rush hour, the most crowded time of the day
Thousands of children scatter on the streets
Hoping they can at least earn a little bit of silver
Sometimes they get lucky
But mostly they just see their reflections glaring at them
These children have there books in hand
As if they were going to school, ready to learn
But what can they do when the teachers send them to recess
Not to play, but to beg
And if they fail, they will face unspeakable consequences.
