CNBC reporter Julia Boorstin made a yearly review about technology and her first point was that consumers prefer having unlimited access instead of having ownership. This year viewers were able to access many different networks ranging from Netflix to Verizon. However, television and Internet weren’t listed as one of these networks. TVs that are connected to Internet are increasing but consumers continue to use laptops and mobile devices to watch web based videos.
Boorstin also stated that the audience who uses social media is growing up and while companies like Zynga and Groupon are losing popularity, the more adult-oriented companies like Linkedln are growing rapidly.
Finally Boorstin said that the concept of e-books has not fully reached it’s potential.
