Wake Up, a café founded by a group of high school students faced police crackdown after a student informer, informed the İstanbul Security Forces of it’s illegal trafficking. It has been detected that Wake Up has been involved in illegal coffee trafficking for over 6 months.
Last night armed police officers supported by tear gas units attacked Wake Up building. After resisting government forces with hot coffee, the employees were arrested. CEO of Wake Up, Alp B. is currently under detention and is facing accusations of illegal coffee trafficking. The prosecutors demand a punishment up to ten years of imprisonment.
Alp has only stated that he is an honest businessman facing charges on political grounds by the ex-CEO Güvenç K. Wake Up finance director Ozan Oz., once president of Açıspor. has been previously accused of match fixing. Ozan is currently missing with rumors claiming he has fled to Syria.
Anita A., daugther of Mexican drug lord Eduardo Almanza Morales, is also a shareholder of the company. She has been released on bail.
