Enes Kanter, a young talent who was discovered by Ülkerspor in 2003, is now one of the best basketball players in college basketball in USA. Although he is only 19 years old, it is predicted that he will be the number 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Drafts. He is now playing for University of Kentucky. However, because Fenerbahçe Ülker gave him approximately $33.000, he is considered as a professional basketball player. Therefore NCAA recruited him to play in the NCAA because of his earnings which is above what is considered acceptable for college basketball players. He is now waiting for the 2011 NBA Drafts. It is for sure that he is one of the biggest candidates to be drafted primarily.
Enes is 6.11 ft (2.11 m) tall, however inspite of his height his feet are quick and he is a good shooter from short distances. He can play as a center and a power forvet, therefore he is a player that can create lots of match-up problems. He is very strong and ambitious, that is why he is a reliable player.
After being named as the Most Valuable Player in the 2009 FIBA Europe Under 18-Championship, he has beaten the record of one of the best international basketball players in NBA, Dirk Nowitzki, in Nike Hoop Summit, where international high school students play against American students, by scoring 34 points and grabbing 13 rebaunds.
By looking at his achievements, we can say that a 19 year old is going to win the hearts of many basketball viewers in many coming years.
