A huntsman in myths ? A song? Yep… I am talking about a famous song by Metallica, featuring Cliff Burton’s legendary bass line, from the legendary Metallica album, “Master of Puppets”. After Cliff Burton died, this song is devoted to him every time it is played at live concerts.
And now, the name is given to the festival! For the first time in history, a band is making their own festival, with many legendary bands that Metallica has invited: Avenged Sevenfold, Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant and many more! The event will take place during 23-24 June 2012, at Bader Field, Atlantic City, New Jersey! Metallica will headline both nights. They will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “Black Album” by playing it in its entirety on one night and all of ‘Ride the Lightning’ for the first time ever on the other night! This will be the only North American performances of these albums in 2012. There is no doubt that it will be a massive event with their two fascinating albums!
Metallica has celebrated their 30th anniversary in December 2011, in San Francisco. After that, two surprising events have been announced: 3D Metallica film and another very exciting event. I was very excited about the 3D film project when I first heard about it. But…. what was the other “exciting thing”?
Two weeks ago, Metallica made an announcement, saying that after having been to many festivals, the band finally has a big surprise. I was very curious about what they were going to say. Finally, they made a live announcement from their studio. It was a fifteen minute live stream. I was very happy to hear them but also quite anxious, anticipating only the worse: “Can it be a breake-up?” I relaxed and got happy after watching the first few minutes of the live announcement: they are organizing this huge event.
It is super exciting to hear about a huge event…But… When I first heard about it, I felt both sad and amazingly happy at the same time! a) One of my favorite bands is organizing their own festival, b) I live outside the U.S. and the prices of plane tickets are so expensive!! What to do, what to do… Then I started to give it a try, by buying lottery tickets to go to New Jersey this summer. We’ll see if it works… Be careful, you may see me in one of the concert photos, who knows?
