Istanbul is getting ready for innumerable concerts for this summer! Istanbul will be flooded by magnificent musicians and bands. This will lead you to experience the dreams that you have always wanted to live.
Elton John, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Amy Winehouse, Judas Priest, Whitsnake, Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Alice Cooper, Interpol, James Blunt and many more… These are the top “wanted” list for the music addicts! Istanbul has seen Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne and U2 in 2010. However, everybody thought that it wasn’t enough and here it goes! The dream is coming true. It will be an unforgettable and outrageous summer and a year for Istanbul!
I have been to U2, Ozzy Osbourne and Scorpions concerts, all of which were memorable, unforgettable and remarkable experiences of a life time. I was very impressed by their professional approach to their audience, their communication with them, their performances and obviously their music. Based on these experiences, I would expect the same from the upcoming concerts in Istanbul.
Now, since there are lots of concerts and it is quite hard to pay for all of them, I made a list and I put the concerts in order. According to my list, Elton John takes the first place.
Let me give you some information about the upcoming concerts. First of all, a great musician, a “sir”, Elton John… He is going to have a concert in Istanbul and Ankara. He and his band are going to be in Istanbul, in Küçükçiftlik Park, on the 5th of July. Coming to the ticket prices, it is quiet expensive. However, I personally think that it is really worth paying for. The ticket prices are starting from 126 TL, and it goes up to 510 TL. I am trying every way to go to that concert!
Furthermore, Bon Jovi takes the second place in my list. Bon Jovi is a very famous rock star and he is well-known around the world. Personally, I think he is a great musician and this is a concert you cannot ever miss! This is a special concert because he is coming to Istanbul after 18 years. He is also going to be in Türk Telekom Arena, Galatasaray’s new stadium, on 8th of July. Coming to the ticket prices, it starts from 75 TL and it goes up to 550 TL. The ticket zone called “Diamond Ring”, front stage, the tickets are sold out even though it is 550 TL’s! Also, this happens in every Bon Jovi concert and this shows us how he dominated the world with his music!
Another huge concert which is going to take place is Sonisphere Festival. This is the sequel of Sonisphere Festival in Istanbul. Previous year, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax, shortly “The Big 4”, came to Istanbul and it was a great experience for Istanbul. This year, Iron Maiden is coming as the headliner of the concert and Slipknot as the co-headliner. Iron Maiden is known as one of the best heavy metal bands around the world. Also, Slipknot is known as one of the best heavy and nu metal bands. Also, Alice Cooper is going to have a concert in Sonisphere Festival. It can be hard for some people to listen metal bands for 10 hours, but it is worth going and watching the concert. It is also going to take place at Küçükçiftlik Park, on 19th of June, in Istanbul. The ticket prices are between 148-520 TL.
On 10th of July, in Küçükçiftlik Park, there is going to be another special event that is going to be like a dream for metal and hard rock fans. Judas Priest and Whitesnake are going to have a concert together. Judas Priest is finishing their music career after 40 years with their final world tour. Whitesnake will be performing their songs from their newest album. The ticket prices will be between 78-154 TL. This concert is a “must see” concert.
There are also other legendary artists like Amy Winehouse, Joe Cocker, Deep Purple and Interpol. It would really take a lot of time to talk all about them. Also, it became really hard to go to all the concerts because they are too expensive and too many. That is why, I would recommend to make a priority list based on the artists you would want to see most.
As a result, this year will be unforgettable and amazing! It is so nice to be the center of lots of concerts this year! Have fun, rock on!
