Did you ever watched this movie: ‘’You Don’t Know Jack ’’ a movie about a doctor Jack Kevorkian who helps people kill themselves without hurting their selves and thinks that euthanasia should be legal? I had that opportunity today at tv. I know now your thinking what does this movie has a common point with ethical dilemma. My answer for this question is ‘’Yes of course! ’’ they have a lot of common points.
Ethical dilemma is this complex situation in media-law-sports etc. This movie is one of the best examples for this situation. Doctor Kevorkian killed almost 100 people who wanted to die because of different reasons (alzheimer- cancer- leukemia- physical disability) in his point of view he has really powerfull reasons however; in another person’s brain he is is playing the god. He fetters every little detail about his patients, he makes them confess their request for dying, cares about them. While he is doing his job people around him follow him, processes him as hi is a killer, tries to stop doing his job. In here media comes in; a journalist of NY Times writes an article about this Doctor and that police who is working on this case. This journalist is in the try of giving the readers the truth. Only the truth! Because of this journalist doctor gives an interview with a radio programmer. That program makes him look as a maniac who likes killing people. Where he is only trying to help people around him when they couldn’t helped his mother, made her die with pain, a lot of pain.
What I’m trying to tell is there are a lot of examples of ethical dilemma around us. This is only an example. I think that journalists should give the truth to the readers but not causing that person get hurt or hated by others.
