Letter To The Reader

We would like to introduce you The Right Angle Challenge:

The Right Angle Challenge (TRAC) is designed for high school and university students who learn how to analyze, criticize and formulize current situations around them. This competition aims at providing a platform for student to exercise their journalistic talents in this constantly changing world of media.

Media in 21st century has shifted from elites to citizens and has regained power within democratic speech. It needs to, however, build its own code and draw its lines for what is regarded as journalism and how much carries a journalistic value. Therefore, the TRAC 2013 was set up with this ambition in mind.

TRAC’s foremost goal is to highlight and reward young journalists who successfully report news and voice their own opinions through visuals and/or writings.

The categories of the competition are:

• Best Opinion – Editorial
• Best News On Turkey
• Best News On The World
• Best Photo or Video Journalism
• Best Interview
• Best Sports News
• Best Arts & Entertainment News
• Best Research Article
• Best Newspaper Design
• Best Student Journalist of the Year
• Initiative in Journalism Award
